SU’s Vice Provost for Student and Campus Life earns national award for achievements in higher ed.
For his outstanding work strengthening and integrating student learning and engagement and fostering student success at 新澳门六合彩开奖结果, Dr. Alvin Sturdivant, Vice Provost for Student and Campus Life, has been named one of 20 recipients of the National Association of Student Professional Administrators Foundation (NASPA) award.
The award—considered among NASPA’s highest honors—is given out annually to recognize exceptional members of the student affairs and higher education community. Those chosen for the honor have created lasting impacts on their institution through extraordinary service and demonstrate sustained professional distinction in their field.
In his role he leads SU’s efforts in enhancing the quality of the student experience, including engagement, inclusion, retention and the learning experience.
He also has adjunct appointments in the College of Arts and Sciences, teaching courses associated with multiculturalism, the deconstruction of hate in the U.S. and abroad and race and ethnicity.
Dr. Sturdivant holds an EdD in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Vermont and an master’s and bachelor’s from North Carolina State University. Prior to coming to SU he held leadership positions at St. Louis University and the University of Vermont, along with various roles at Syracuse University.
