Our Facilities

The development of the facilities on the Bedford Campus over the past few years means that new students in the School will benefit through their period of study from some excellent and innovative spaces.

Polhill Park halls of residence provide secure and high quality student accommodation.

The 24/7 learning resource centre provides study spaces and open access IT facilities.

The new gateway building gives informal study areas for our students and carefully constructed teaching spaces for interactive lectures and workshops.

In addition, the Bedford campus has excellent sport and leisure facilities that our students can use.

Gateway Building

Opened in January 2015 the Gateway is an impressive building featuring high-quality teaching spaces, informal learning spaces, and lecture theatres (including a Harvard style lecture theatre); as well as a new student services centre.

Sports Facilities

The purposely designed teaching spaces house a range of seminars, lectures and practical sessions providing an excellent teaching space for primary and secondary education.

Teaching Practice Collection

resource collection in the library offers a wide range of items that you can take into the classroom to enhance your teaching, these include:

  • Books for children organised in four sequences - non-fiction, storybooks, picture books and big books.
  • Audio-visual materials and objects - posters, wall charts, resource packs, games, story sacks, boxes of artefacts - for use in the classroom.
  • Off-air recordings of primary and secondary schools broadcasts

Forest School

The Forest School will provide extensive, challenging outdoor play experiences, an essential part of our early years education provision.
