Biography

Marco began his career as part of Gary Locke’s successful 1996 gubernatorial campaign in Washington State. After catching the political bug, Marco worked for a number of elected officials, including Governor Locke, and on a several campaigns in the state. The culmination of these efforts was the opportunity to manage the successful campaign for Greg Nickels to be аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹û Mayor in 2001.Marco also ran Dave Ross’ congressional race in 2004 and has worked on numerous elections since.

Marco then worked in аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹û Mayor Nickel’s office until 2006 when he left to pursue a Masters in Public Administration at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. After graduation he worked for a commercial real estate development firm in аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹û on a high rise tower in downtown аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹û. In 2009 he moved to New York City to take a job as the Chief of Staff for the Department of Small Business Services. When Mayor McGinn took office in 2010, he asked Marco to return to аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹û to direct the Office of Intergovernmental Relations. After four years heading government relations for the city, Marco transitioned to the energy sector as VP for Enwave аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹û, a district energy company.

Marco has taught since spring of 2010, starting with a public policy course at аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹û Central College and then moving to аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹û’s Institute of Public Service fall of the same year. He teaches both Campaigns and Elections and Government Relations.
