Biography
Dr. Corinne Bridges is an affiliate faculty member of the Online Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program. Dr. Bridges has experience counseling individuals and groups in both the public and private sectors. She has served as the vice president of the Chi Sigma Iota Upsilon Chi Chi Chapter and as a board member for the Greater Cincinnati Counseling Association. In addition to teaching, Dr. Bridges is a qualitative research expert and in 2024, was the recipient of the Walden University Certificate of Excellence for extraordinary dedication and achievements as well as the Bernard L. Turner Award which recognizes service as doctoral committee Chair and research expert overseeing the Harold L. Hodgkinson award winning student dissertation. She is committed to best practices in teaching and following nominations in 2017, 2018, and 2019 was the recipient of the Walden University Faculty Excellence Award in Winter 2020. Her research interests include the treatment of mental health disorders and chronic pain; ecological counseling; rural counseling; multicultural and LGBTQ counseling; online education and relationship building. She has extensive experience presenting and publishing on various research interests as well as gatekeeping and legal and ethical issues, and qualitative research methods. Further, Dr. Bridges is an advocate for community engagement and social change and served as a committee member for the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center Colorectal Family Advisory Council, the Hirschsprung Disease Research Collaborative, and as Secretary on the Board for the Wellsboro Area Youth Soccer program. Most recently, she was a Board Member for the Patient and Family Advisory Council Wellsboro Guthrie Medical Center.
